Why You're Still Asking, "What Should I Wear?"
Why You're Still Asking, "What Should I Wear?"
Every day, millions of women ask the same question.
"What should I wear?"
It's such a normal part of getting dressed that we rarely stop to think about it.
We search Pinterest.
We read blog posts.
We watch YouTube.
We save outfit ideas.
We buy wardrobe guides.
We look for shopping lists.
We search for wardrobe basics.
We ask someone else what they think.
At first, none of this seems unusual.
In fact, it feels responsible. Like we're trying to learn.
But after reading thousands of emails from women over the years, I started noticing something that I couldn't ignore.
The women asking these questions weren't beginners.
Many had closets full of clothes.
Many had spent years reading fashion advice.
Many had bought wardrobe guides, followed influencers, saved Pinterest boards, and continued searching for answers.
And yet...
They were still standing in front of their closets asking the exact same question.
"What should I wear?"
At some point, I had to ask myself a different question.
What if women aren't struggling because they don't have enough fashion advice?
What if they're struggling because they've been trying to solve the wrong problem?
We've Been Solving Today's Decision
Think about how most fashion advice works.
You search for what to wear with white jeans.
Someone gives you five outfit ideas.
You search for dresses with sneakers.
Someone gives you ten outfit ideas.
You search for wardrobe basics.
Someone gives you a checklist.
You search for what to wear in fall.
Someone gives you another list.
Each answer helps with today's question.
But tomorrow morning...
You're standing in front of your closet again.
Wondering what to wear.
Not because the advice was bad.
Because it was never designed to teach you how to answer the next question on your own.
It solved today's decision.
Not tomorrow's.
The Fashion Industry Didn't Teach You How To Think
This was the realization that changed everything for me.
The fashion industry is incredibly good at giving women answers.
What to buy.
What to wear.
What's trending.
What colors are in.
What shoes go with what outfit.
But very few people teach women how to make those decisions for themselves.
Those are two completely different things.
Imagine if someone gave you the answer to every math problem for twenty years.
You might get today's homework right.
But if no one ever taught you how the math worked, you'd still need someone to give you tomorrow's answers.
Fashion works much the same way.
If you've spent years collecting answers without learning the thinking behind them, you'll naturally keep looking for the next answer.
Not because you're bad at fashion.
Because no one taught you the skill.
The Problem Was Never That You Needed More Clothes
For years, many women have believed they were missing something.
Maybe it's better clothes.
Maybe it's the right wardrobe basics.
Maybe it's the perfect capsule wardrobe.
Maybe it's another shopping trip.
Maybe it's another outfit idea.
Maybe this time will finally make getting dressed easier.
Sometimes it does.
For a little while.
Then the questions return.
Because clothes were never the thing creating confidence.
Understanding was.
A Different Question
Instead of asking...
"What should I wear?"
What if you started asking...
"How do I learn to make this decision for myself?"
That question changes everything.
Because now you're no longer searching for another answer.
You're searching for understanding.
Understanding helps you evaluate the clothes already hanging in your closet.
Understanding helps you recognize why one outfit feels finished while another doesn't.
Understanding helps you shop more intentionally.
Understanding helps you stop second-guessing every decision.
Most importantly...
Understanding stays with you.
It doesn't disappear when the season changes.
Imagine Getting Dressed Differently
Imagine opening your closet and knowing where to start.
Not because you memorized another outfit.
Because you understand how to build one.
Imagine shopping without wondering whether you'll actually wear what you're buying.
Imagine seeing a trend and knowing whether it belongs in your wardrobe instead of feeling like you should own it because everyone else does.
Imagine reaching a point where Pinterest becomes inspiration instead of instruction.
Where articles become enjoyable instead of necessary.
Where you trust your own judgment.
That is a completely different way of getting dressed.
And I believe every woman is capable of learning it.
This Realization Changed Everything I Teach
For years, I thought I was helping women by giving them more answers.
Better outfit ideas.
Better shopping recommendations.
Better wardrobe advice.
But the more women I spoke with, the more I realized they didn't need another answer.
They needed to understand why they had been stuck for so long.
That's what completely changed the direction of my business.
Instead of focusing on giving women more wardrobe answers, I'm focused on teaching them how to make wardrobe decisions for themselves.
Because once you understand how to think through those decisions, you stop depending on someone else to answer them for you.
💛 I'd Love to Help
If you've been asking yourself, "What should I wear?" for years, The Wardrobe Reset is where I recommend starting.
The Wardrobe Reset isn't another wardrobe guide, shopping list, or collection of outfit ideas. It's where I help you understand why you've been stuck in the same cycle for years—and why there's a different way forward.
Once you understand the problem you've actually been trying to solve, everything else begins to make more sense. That's why I believe it's the best place for every woman to start before learning how to build outfits, organize a wardrobe, or decide what belongs in it.
