What To Wear To A Sporting Event
Combining comfortable and athleisure style clothing; like sweatshirts and baseball caps with your everyday essentials is right up my alley and makes for the perfect combination when trying to create a stylish outfit to wear to a sporting event.
Playoffs just kicked off in the NFL and my team, Houston Texans, hosted the Colts this past Saturday at home, NRG Stadium. I planned a very last minute trip - booked flights, hotel and bought game tickets in a matter of 2-3 days.
It was a no-brainer where to stay. If you’re familiar with my blog, you know my Houston home away from is Hotel Sorella. Between the convenience of having a free continental breakfast every morning and having plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment in one place City Centre, this remains my go-to.
At this point, it feels like home. Whenever my uber driver turns into City Centre, my face lights up. And this trip felt even more special because I was there to attend the playoff game.
My home for the weekend was this gorgeous penthouse suite -
My requirements for a game day outfit consist of:
Wearing team colors (an obvious)
Having at least one item represent your team. If you’re not a jersey wearing girl, you have other options.
Jeans (pockets give you more options to store)
Cute and small crossbody bag. NFL policy rules - unless you are carrying a clear bag, your bag must not go over specific measurements. They do not allow large bags into the stadiums.
In my case, I still haven't’ decided which players jersey I want (I’m back and forth between #4 and #10), so, I wore a Texas sweatshirt instead. Still reppin’ my team and a Texans baseball cap, distressed jeans, and a printed small crossbody bag. My outfit doesn’t scream over-the-top sports fan, but it’s just enough. It’s a nice balance between sporty and chic. My extremely loud cheers and yelling screams over-the-top fan instead. Having cheered for over ten years, it always resurfaces especially when it comes to my team.
Although the game did not turn out in our favor, it was an amazing time and an exciting experience. I can’t wait to get back for the first home game, next season.
