Winter Travel Essentials

Getting ready for an upcoming trip can involve frantically trying to figure out what you need to buy or think you need to, what to pack to planning your travel itinerary. Sometimes, what to wear while traveling is the last thing on your mind.

Throwing on something quick that’s comfortable, or your go-to look is probably the easiest decision to make.

Even if that is the case, your “throw on” outfit, that can take all of five minutes to put together, can still feel stylish and put together.

I try to go on quick getaways at least every other month, and comfort is the main priority when picking out my airport look. And not once do I feel like I’m jeopardizing being stylish because, in my books, a comfortable and casual look is just as stylish as any other outfit.

Keeping the right essentials in your closet is key to making this happen.

My most recent trip was to one of my favorite cities, Houston. I stayed in the warehouse district at Hotel Alessandra. My first time both to this area and the hotel. Hanging out at the rooftop pool in December is a nice break from the east coast weather this time of year.

My travel plans start early. I usually like to take the first flight out, get to my destination early and begin exploring. I don’t care to throw on jeans and heels at 2-3 in the morning. Leggings or joggers, sneakers, a light layer, and a sweatshirt or hoodie is more practical when I’m traveling.

My winter active wardrobe essentials eBook, available here, shows you how to pull off an active style and still look good. And who doesn’t want to be able to get away with looking good in leggings or sweats?
