What To Wear: Thanksgiving Dinner
Let's make it official - Happy Holidays! I can’t believe we are at the end of another year. The holiday season has officially kicked off, and I was quickly reminded of that walking into Target, and all of their Christmas decor was out.
Tis’ the season for holiday parties, family gatherings, tons of shopping, relaxing and eating. Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I know for so many, you struggle with what to wear to dinner. How casual is too casual? If you dress up, how can you put a look together where you’re not too dressy? Are certain styles appropriate? And the list goes on.
Comfort and stylish are a priority on my list. After dinner and that second or third plate plus dessert, the last thing you want to do is walk around with your pants unbuttoned and unzipped. So comfort is key!
Here are a few tips when picking out your outfit:
#1: Opt for a lightweight or flowy top. Moving around in the kitchen, cooking over a hot stove or running around with the kids, you want a top that is not going to hold heat.
#2: If you’re wearing a layer, pair it with a cami, short sleeve top or a lightweight or flowy fabric underneath.
#3: If wearing a thick or chunky knit, skip the layers. But if you want to layer, opt for a sleeveless style.
I’ve put together a few outfits for you to give you an idea on how to pull off a casual look and still feel polished and put together or how to dress up without feeling too formal.
These items are from my fall wardrobe eBooks, so you do not need to hit the mall for this occasion. Just your closet! Mix and match your pieces, and you’re all set!
