Why You’re Struggling To Create Outfits Around Your Clothes

“I have a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear” is almost like the recurring theme every single time you stare blankly  into your closet trying to decide what to wear.

Your first thought usually is, you don’t have enough pieces and need to shop.

How To Create Outfits With Your Clothes

You either end up:

A. Shopping for new pieces and then struggle to wear them more than one time

B. You settle for wearing the same pieces without doing anything new to the outfit

Spending unnecessary money in an effort to be more stylish is only leaving a bigger hole in your bank account and even more items that you’re going to end up struggling to wear.  At the end of the day, you’ll still feel like you have nothing to wear.

It’s not that you don’t have enough clothes, the truth really is:

#1 You Don’t Have The Right Clothes

Your wardrobe is filled with a mix of different pieces that you love but their not easy to mix and match together.  This only leads to you being able to wear your items once or a couple of times.

If you want to avoid these one-time wears and be able to create more outfits around your clothes, you need the basic pieces that’ll allow you to wear all of your clothes over and over again to create different outfits around the same pieces.

I’ve listed out the 24 pieces for you here and how to use these pieces to turn your one-time wears into more outfits.  Click below to get your copy.

#2 You Don’t Know Your Style

You have a little bit of this and a little bit of that, you have pieces you don’t love and pieces that you love.  You have sort of an idea of your style but don’t know what pieces you need to show it off.

Even though you have a closet full of clothes, probably have of the stuff isn’t your style.

#3 A Cluttered Wardrobe

Do you know what you have? Or is your clothes, shoes and accessories thrown all over the place, tucked away, hanging in the back of your wardrobe where you’ve just completely forgotten about it.

If your endgame is to be stylish, you need to know the pieces that you have and where they are so you can easily grab them to add to your outfit.

Keeping your wardrobe organized is the best way to stay on top of your inventory.

#4 You Have A Closet Full Of Pieces You Don’t Need

This goes along with #3 and knowing the clothes you have.  If an item no longer fits or you don’t have a need for it anymore, why clutter up your space with things you know you don’t need?

Cleansing your wardrobe not only helps to keep your clothes organized but it also lets you know what your wardrobe is lacking and the pieces you actually need to add in.

I cover a Q&A on how to cleanse your wardrobe in my 3-step process shared in Building A Wardrobe: The Basics eBook, here.  When you know what your wardrobe needs you don’t have to worry about spending money to never wear your clothes.

#5 You Have Too Many Clothes

This goes along with #3 and #4 but just because you have a lot of clothes doesn’t mean you have a ton of options.  Having a ton of options that you don’t wear only creates more stress for you and more clothes that you’ll probably never wear.

Keep what you need and what works for your lifestyle and donate/toss the rest.

When you face your closet you should be looking at items that (1) You love, (2) They fit and (3) They work for your lifestyle.

You don’t need a million pieces to be stylish but you need the right pieces that’ll allow you to be able stylish and wear all of the things you love and add to your wardrobe.  To get rid of that struggle once and for all when it comes to getting dressed, your wardrobe has to have the basic pieces.
